Army prepared to respond to any threat on LoC: Gen Raheel

Gen Raheel reviews security situation across country during Corps Commanders' conference

During the Corps Commanders' Conference held on Tuesday at the General Headquarter in Rawalpindi, army chief General Raheel Sharif asserted that the military was prepared to counter any kind of threat. 

Gen Raheel also expressed complete satisfaction over "noticeable changes" in the overall security situation of the country, an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement read.

Participants of the meeting discussed the internal and external security situation of the country at length and reviewed the progress of Operation Zarb-e-Azb and Intelligence-based Operations (IBOs).

After the state of readiness and vigil by troops along the Line of Control (LOC) was reviewed, the army chief said, “We are fully prepared to respond to entire spectrum of threat.”



 

While referring to peace talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban, the army chief also said it was the only credible way to achieve lasting peace. He also said that detractors and spoilers were against peace and prosperity of Afghanistan and the region.
