PTI submits resolution against MQM chief in Punjab Assembly

Resolution demands government to register treason case against MQM chief over his anti-Pakistan, anti-army statements

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday submitted a resolution in the Punjab Assembly Secretariat against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain over his anti-state comments.

“Altaf Hussain is continuously issuing statements against the state and the Pakistan Army,” the resolution said. “The MQM leader is openly inviting Indian, Nato and United Nation’s forces to intervene into the internal matters of the country.”

The resolution demanded the government of Pakistan to declare Altaf a ‘traitor’ and bring him back to the country through Interpol.

Further, the resolution urged that a treason case should be registered against Altaf in accordance with Article 6 as the MQM chief had breached the Constitution of Pakistan during his speeches.

The resolution paid tribute to the Pakistan Army, Rangers and other security institutions for their efforts in eliminating terrorism and bringing peace back to the country.

PTI’s resolution comes after the MQM chief called on party activists to petition the United Nations and Nato to send forces to Karachi to ascertain the ‘real facts’ about the killing of ‘Mohajirs’ in the metropolis. In his address, Altaf had alleged that ‘biased elements’ in Pakistan’s establishment have decided to “eliminate Mohajir youths who are demanding their due rights”.

On Sunday, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar told reporters that the government has decided to file a legal reference with London police against Altaf, who appealed to India and Nato forces for help and criticised the security establishment in a provocative speech late Saturday. “A legal reference will be filed with the UK government and Metropolitan Police in the coming days,” the interior minister had said.

This is not the first time Imran Khan’s PTI has submitted a resolution against the MQM party head. In the last couple of months, PTI has tabled several condemnation resolutions against Altaf in the provincial assemblies of Sindh and Punjab while the party also submitted a resolution against Altaf in the National Assembly’s secretariat in May.

For anti government articles and articles on price increases or decrease in education you are nowhere to be found. How much is PML-N paying you for selling your zameer ?

Hasan Askari | 8 years ago | Reply Good to see MQM supporting posts getting most likes Punjabi establishment is quietly looting billions while distracting the nation to MQM Under Musharraf they did not get the oppurtunity to loot much so once he was gone PPP and now PML-N and Army focus on looting the country MQM is just a diversion....they are taking revenge from them because they supported Musharaff and of course they are insecure of Muhajirs anyway...so that jealousy is there as well.

I am not concerned about the Pakistanis here who are collectively going down the drain and taking the country to the gutter. To the world I want to tell that these two major parties are extremely dangerous to world peace. They have links with terrorists who kill shias, pakistanis, attack afghanistan and india as well. They form election alliance with these groups as well. On the other hand they go to west to collect money, donations. I appeal to world community to monitor their leaders and supporters. They are dual faced parties who tacitly support terrorists but act as democracy to make money. In Pakistan they are called "political wing" of the terorrists. beware

I think it is time for these so called Mohajirs to stand up and clarify to the nation where their loyalties lies. They should tell us whether they are Pakistanis from Sindh or any other province instead of calling themselves Mohajirs. They should also repudiate what their leader is saying all the time, it seems there is back lash in the rest of Pakistan against this ethnic community in Karachi because of the stupid things their leader is saying. I know for sure that there are those who's parents immigrated from India and are the most patriotic Pakistanis one could meet, there is no doubt about it. I say if you are born in Pakistan then you should consider yourself Pakistani and nothing else. I wish the news media start ignoring this imbecile for good and let the country live in peace. Above all it seems the criminals are on the run in Karachi since the crack down of Rangers who are doing a good job, get rid of all these criminals from all the political parties and those who resist should be brought to justice. I think he is hurting and can not sustain his lavish living in London with out any apparent job, Rangers are doing superb job to curtail MQM's criminal activities and we salute you for doing a great job.

Did they ever bother to do a soul search for the legal demands of the Baloch ? The answer is big no .naught. They just know how to use brute force as the armed force belongs to them .
