Test kits containing application forms and information booklets would be available at the University of Health Sciences (UHS) and 14 other public sector medical universities and colleges from August 1, UHS Pro-VC Junaid Khan said at an orientation seminar organised by the UHS at the Allama Iqbal Medical College.
He said the last date for submission of applications was August 8. He said candidates would be charged Rs500 for the admission process.
The 150-minute test will start at 9am in Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahim Yar Khan and Hasan Abdal. Candidates can choose the centre of their choice. However, once allotted, the centre would not be changed. He advised the candidates to reach their centres at least one hour before the test starts. He said no candidate would be allowed to entre a test centre after 8:15am. Khan said there would be a single question paper consisting of 220 objective-type questions, divided into four sections: Physics (44 questions), Chemistry (58 questions), English (30 questions) and Biology (88 questions). There are 3,022 bachelor of medicine, bachelor of surgery open merit seats in 17 public sector medical colleges and 175 bachelor of dental surgery (BDS) open merit seats in three government dental colleges of the province. Nine seats (female) are reserved for candidates from Sindh, six from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 26 for Balochistan, 49 from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 64 from Gilgit-Baltistan, 17 for FATA, 85 for foreign candidates (on regular fee), 76 for foreign candidates (on self-finance basis), 20 for the disabled students, 61 for candidates from six less-developed districts in the Punjab, one for Cholistan and one for Afghan refugees.
