Ilyas destroys HBL

Aizaz Bin Ilyas took six for 20 as PIA thrashed HBL by an innings and 30 runs on the third day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy.

Ilyas, who took six wickets in the first-innings as well, proved unplayable as HBL were dismissed for a paltry 111 the second time around. Earlier, PIA added 19 to their overnight total before being all out for 352.

Islamabad look for win

Islamabad need another 202 runs to beat Karachi Blues on the final day. Blues were earlier dismissed for 258 after resuming on 17 for no loss. Trailing by 49 runs in the first-innings, Blues were indebted to Atif Ali Zaidi who struck an invaluable 53 to give his team something to bowl at.

Rawalpindi prevail

In a low-scoring match where no team crossed 153, Rawalpindi beat Multan by 52 runs at the Gymkhana Ground in Okara. Sadaf Hussain took four for 37 as Multan, chasing 193 to win, were once again dismissed cheaply for 140. And though Kashif Naveed was unbeaten on 62, Hussain and Rashid Latif ensured Multan, who handed out a 41-run lead in the first innings, had only their batsmen to blame.

ZTBL win one-sided encounter

SNGPL suffered a humiliating loss as they were thrashed by an innings and 22 runs by ZTBL. After being bundled out for 193 in the first-innings and forced to follow-on, SNGPL were bundled out for 147 with Sohail Tanvir taking six for 32. Tanvir, who took three for 34 in the first-innings, finished with an impressive haul of nine for 66 for the match.

NBP look to annihilate Wapda

Hammad Azam struck an unbeaten century as NBP were on top against Wapda on the third day. Azam was unbeaten on 102 as NBP amassed a mammoth 432 after Wapda were dismissed for 271. Trailing by 161, Wapda were then left in deep trouble after being reduced to 93 for four as the match headed to the last day.
