Army chief meets Italian FM

Foreign Minister Terzi appreciated Pakistan’s positive role for regional security and stability

Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, who arrived in Italy on a three-day official visit, held a detailed meeting with Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi on Monday.


According to the military’s media wing, the ISPR, Gen Raheel and the Italian foreign minister held detailed discussions on regional security.

Foreign Minister Terzi appreciated Pakistan’s positive role for regional security and stability. He also commended the Pakistan Army as a “symbol of great hope for peace, stability of the region and the entire world”.

The army chief also visited the Defence and Security Industrial Group to explore wider Defence collaboration and cooperation. He was later briefed on weapon systems, doctrine, training at the Air Defence Headquarters.

During his stay in Italy, the army chief will hold a number of meetings with political and military leadership.
