RAWALPINDI:

A man critically injured by Indian firing on Saturday succumbed to his wounds at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on Sunday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the media wing of the armed forces, Muhammad Waseem, a civilian critically injured due to unprovoked firing by Indian forces on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Chirikot sector early Saturday morning, “embraced Shahadat (martyrdom) Sunday morning.” A resident of Polas village, Wasim was hit in the neck by a bullet fired by Indian forces from across the Line of Control, defence sources said.

Indian forces had again breached the ceasefire agreement and opened fire on the civilian population near the LoC on Saturday. Pakistani security forces gave a befitting reply to the aggression and silenced the Indian guns. Both sides have exchanged gunfire in the last week with four people killed on the Pakistani side.
