Secure flying: Safety walls to be constructed around BBIA

People living in adjacent localities would not be able to throw garbage in the airport area

ISLAMABAD:

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has signed a contract with the National Logistics Cell for construction of safety walls around Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA), said a CAA spokesman on Friday.

People living in adjacent localities would not be able to throw garbage in the airport area after construction of the walls, thus preventing birds to fly over the airport.

The spokesman said garbage dumps in localities around the airport attracted birds which could cause aircraft accidents and environmental damage.

Does the wall have spikes ? even then people will throw garbage due to their ignorance with regard to hygiene & cleanliness. This is just another way of throwing money into a bottomless pit.
