Senior bureaucrat Wasim Ahmed, who was appointed as the administrator of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) on Wednesday, refused to take over the new charge. “I am a senior officer of grade 21,” an official quoted Ahmed as saying. “How can I work under a local government secretary who is junior to me?”
Ever since Saqib Soomro fled the country, there has been no permanent replacement and the position has been given to three different officers in the last month. The CM House spokesperson insisted Ahmed will be taking over the charge soon.
