T-Diaries: Alizeh Tahir
A glimpse into the world of Pakistani powerhouses
Shoot for an event.
What sparked your interest in acting?
Well it’s hard to tell as there was not just one thing. All I can say is that ever since childhood, when I entered the industry, I looked at the actors and their work. Since then I knew that I wanted to be an actor.
What is the most important thing you keep in mind before signing for a project?
The most important thing is the script. It should be strong with a conclusion that should lead to a better understanding of things.
What is the hardest part about working in the industry?
Launching your career when nobody knows you is probably the hardest part. One has to really struggle and do their very best during this tough time.
What’s your personal style?
Simplicity.
What inspires you?
My inspirations include legendary actors such as Bushra Ansari, Marina Khan, Zeba Bakhtiar, Saba Pervaiz, Samina Pirzada and Sania Saeed. I have learnt a lot by watching them and aspire to reach their level.
What differentiates you from your contemporaries?
At this point in my career, I cannot differentiate myself because I am still learning.
Considering that you have recently joined the industry, can you tell us how welcoming it is for newcomers?
For me, the experience was quite overwhelming. Everyone I met has supported me, especially senior actors who have taught me a lot.
Any advice for young women aspiring to become actors?
Believe in yourself. Remember that if you work hard and improve your acting skills, you can achieve success.
