RAWALPINDI: The City Traffic Police (CTP) has launched an operation against transporters overcharging passengers. Many transporters are charging extra fare, especially on inter-city routes, as the rush has increased ahead of Eid.

Chief Traffic Officer Shoaib Khurram Janbaz has asked the wardens to take strict action against transporters involved in overcharging or taking in passengers of their choice. He said heavy fines should be imposed on those overcharging passengers or overloading their vehicles. He said special CTP squads had been formed to check to conduct raids and nab the violators. People can also lodge their complaints at traffic police helpline 1915 and 051-9272616.
