He made the comments while inspecting the performance of an institute in the city. Baig said Motorway Police had established the institutes in Lahore, Kasur, Sahiwal, Okara, Pakpattan, Bahawalnagar, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Khanewal, Multan, Lodhran, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan. He said around 3,820 people had been trained in 159 courses at the institutes.
Baig said training of drivers would create employment opportunities. He said road safety had great importance with regard to the expanding network of national highways. Baig said there was a need to promote a culture of road safety to reduce traffic accidents.
