University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Vice Chancellor Iqrar Ahmad Khan said on Saturday that efforts were needed to promote healthy activities.


He made the remarks while chairing a meeting of the deans’ and directors’ committee at the syndicate room. Khan said efforts were needed to promote healthy activities due to the decline in sporting culture among the youth. He said promoting sporting activities was necessary to create a healthy society.

Khan said the nation had been blessed with plenty of talent. He said there was a need to tap its potential. Khan praised the initiatives taken by the government to promote sporting activities.

He said the UAF had taken a myriad of steps to promote sports. Khan said a sports gala between different hostels and departments would commence in the middle of the semester.

He directed officials to take all steps to cultivate students’ interest in sports.

Khan said this would also inculcate sportsmen spirit in students. He said this would enable them to overcome challenges. Khan said the varsity would recruit 10 coaches to train students in various sports.
