Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday directed the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) to formulate a variety of designs for the expansion of Allama Iqbal International Airport’s passenger terminal.
Sharif was chairing a meeting to review the airport’s expansion plans. The prime minister directed the CAA and the NESPAK to devise a series of designs to facilitate the selection of an appropriate choice. He also instructed the CAA to engage noted firms for the formulation of designs. Sharif directed the concerned officials to ensure the timely completion of financial and technical arrangements on this account and devise comprehensive proposals for the subsequent meeting. Those present on the occasion were briefed by CAA and Nespak officials.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Aviation Shujaat Azim, the aviation secretary and senior CAA officials were also present at the meeting.
