PESHAWAR:

Ehtesab Commission’s teams seized more documents from the K-P mines and mineral department to investigate alleged illegal recruitments over the last two years. Talking to The Express Tribune, an official of the commission who is also part of the investigation, said there was evidence but possibly not sufficient to charge the minister and his accomplices.

Requesting anonymity, the official said data was sought from the Public Service Commission and other relevant departments, including the National Testing Service, to find irregularities.

Talking about misappropriation in mining contracts, he said the commission had been investigating the matter for the last year. “The ministry promised a mining and leasing policy two years ago and cancelled all projects,” the official said. “We have copy of each and every complaint which compelled us to form teams and send them to mines in the Hazara Division, Chitral and other parts of the province,” he said.
