The Rawalpindi police have recovered a four-year-old boy from the Torkham border crossing in the tribal areas. The boy was kidnapped from the Asghar Mall Scheme area in the Banni police limits three months ago.
SHO Banni Nadeem Zafar said the kidnappers had abducted Aashar, the son of Siddique, from outside his residence and were demanding Rs100 million as ransom after establishing contact on phone.
On a tip-off, the Rawalpindi police raided a hideout in Torkham and recovered the boy.
The police also arrested the alleged kidnappers who were identified as Badar Munir, Fatima, Sajida Samiullah and Malang. During investigation, the kidnappers told police they were planning to go to Afghanistan if they failed to get the ransom.
