Election Tribunal Judge Kazim Ali Malik on Tuesday adjourned the proceedings for final arguments by counsel for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz till Tuesday (today). The tribunal is hearing a petition by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf alleging rigging.
During previous proceedings, PML-N’s counsel Barrister Asjad Saeed has said NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq did not benefit from any rigging.
He said Sadiq had not been the beneficiary of irregularities revealed in various reports. He said the PTI had first submitted an application to set up a local commission and later started lashing out against it after it submitted its report. The PTI also slammed a NADRA’s report in the case.
PTI’s counsel Anees Ali Hashmi said the PML-N had failed to provide satisfactory answers to their questions even though the judge had repeatedly asked the counsel for the PML-N to respond to the PTI’s objections.
