Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has introduced a computerised tracking system to facilitate students to check books’ mailing status. A website (www.mailing.aiou.edu.pk (http://www.mailing.aiou.edu.pk)) has been launched for the purpose, said a press release issued on Tuesday.

The status can be checked by entering the roll number or admission challan number in the mail box. The postage registry numbers and roll numbers of students have been kept the same. It was decided to send a text message to students on their cell phones as soon as the books are sent through postal services.

The mailing process is being completed within a stipulated deadline set by
the VC, said Mailing Department In-charge Syed Qammarud Din.

The university has already completed 95 per cent of mailing for the current semester. Books have been dispatched to around 620,000 students across the country.
