For a festive summer
Amna Aqeel aims to offer something for every woman in her Eid collection
KARACHI:
Relatively new to the world of fashion design, Aamna Aqeel entered the foray of crafting outfits in 2011 and began making waves.
At FPW Spring/Summer 2015, Aqeel brought forward her ‘Romancing the Lines’ collection and with Eid round the corner, she’s delving into more traditional as well as contemporary designs. “I’m bringing something for every woman. This collection will have everything you need from traditional to contemporary,” Aqeel explains to The Express Tribune, adding, “My latest outfits comprise unique prints, a summery colour palette, exquisitely crafted designs and lavish hand embroideries.”
The materials untilised are chiffon, silk, georgette chiffon, and karandi cotton. All my fabric is brought from Dubai, UAE, including the embellishments (spikes, buttons, pearls, and sequins).” Discussing price tags, she reveals, “I wanted to give women affordable luxury, so most of my pieces are priced at and around Rs. 8,000.”
Once the Eid season wraps up, the designer plans on getting busy with her Fashion Week 2015 collection, about which she shares, “I will be working on my collection for the FPW fall/winter 2015. I am really looking forward to showcasing my designs on the runway again.”
About illustrating her work on the runway, she admits, “The fact that they liked my last collection was unbelievable and that just took me over the moon.” She asserts, “Appreciation motivates any designer to come back bigger and better.”
