KARACHI: Sindh Minister of Commerce and Industries Rauf Siddiqui has reiterated that his party will oppose the reformed general sales tax (RGST).

Speaking at SITE Limited’s office on Saturday, he said the decision of his party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement, on RGST represents the voice of people living all over Pakistan.

“We do not accept RGST, at least in its present form,” he said, adding that traders and industrialists have also opposed the new tax regime which is bound to cause more problems for businesses.

Siddiqui ordered SITE officials to modernise the mini-hospital and dispensary of SITE Ltd and took help from industrialists in this regard.

He also asked the officers concerned to expedite the recovery of outstanding dues from government and non-government organisations.
