Public health: ‘Health facilities in Bahawalpur division to be upgraded’

He said Rs80 million had been allocated to add a 20-bed burn unit at the hospital

Rs271 million has been allocated for a cardiac surgery centre and an intensive care unit at Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Minister for Cooperatives Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar said on Wednesday.


He said the Thalassemia Unit at the hospital would be upgraded and a bone marrow transplant centre would be set up at a cost of Rs150 million.


He said Rs80 million had been allocated to add a 20-bed burn unit at the hospital.


The minister said Rs40 million had been allocated for a basic health unit in Chak 59DB and Chak 24BC in Yazman Tehsil.


He said the government planned to upgrade facilities at THQ hospitals in Ahmadpur East and Hasilpur.


He said the project would be completed at a cost of Rs119.4 million.


Channar said the Balla Jhallan basic health unit would be renovated. He said Rs75.6 million had been allocated for this purpose..
