The Deputy Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Pakistan, Johann Siffointe on a two-day visit to Balochistan visited the Voluntary Repatriation Center (VRC) in Baleli and met with Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai.


During the meeting, Fabio Varoli, Head of UNHCR in Balochistan acknowledged the governor’s support to UNHCR Balochistan office and also mentioned the successful inauguration of UNHCR Refugee Affected and Hosting Area (RAHA) projects in Killa Abdullah where the governor participated as the guest of honor.


Varoli informed Governor Balochistan that he had successfully completed his assignment. During his more than two year tenure as a head of sub-office Quetta he achieved major milestones including the construction of a women’s technical center, which opened its doors this month. The project will impact the development of young women in Balochistan and have a direct impact which will strengthen their economic condition.


He also mentioned the project details of Strengthening of Orthopedic, Prosthetic and Physiotherapy Centre (OPPC) at Fatima Jinnah Hospital Quetta which the UNCHR completed last year.
