The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) and Council of Islamic Chinese Relations of China (CICRC) on Tuesday penned a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for establishing a ‘IIUI New Silk Road School of Technology’ at the university.
The Chinese council will provide full support for the school including infrastructure, equipment and faculty members, said a press release issued on Tuesday. Chinese faculty would impart technical training to students to cater human resource needs for joint Pak-China projects under the greater economic corridor project. According to the MoU, both sides would jointly hold conferences, seminars, lectures and conduct exchange of faculty and students. Both sides agreed that a committee will be formed to ensure execution of plans to achieve the goals.
