PESHAWAR:

Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has vowed to punish the murderers of four sisters who were killed in the city on Saturday.

“We will reach the logical conclusion of this case,” he said on Tuesday during a visit to the area. He met relatives of the deceased sisters who were gunned down in broad daylight in a neighbourhood in Hashtnagri on Saturday.

The sisters were killed while two others wounded when Fazal Hussain, an alleged drug dealer, opened fire at them in Hashatnagri on Saturday.

Police said Hussain had to pay Rs2 million to the girls father, Iqbal, a property dealer. However, the former’s reluctance to pay the amount was the premise for frequent arguments between the two. On Saturday afternoon, the suspect, along with his accomplices, came to the house of Iqbal and started beating him.

Iqbal’s daughters came out of the house to save him but the accused opened fire at them, killing Ruqqaia Bibi, Rani Bibi, Nanhi and Farhana Bibi on the spot. Farhana’s children were also injured during the firing. Two accused, including Hussain, were arrested on Monday.
