QUETTA: Up to 20 people were killed in clashes between two rival armed groups in Peer Masori area of Dera Bugti late on Monday night.

According to a source in the security forces, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) militants attacked the United Baloch Army (UBA)’s Karam Khan Camp in Peer Masori area. As a result of the attack, as many as 20 people were killed in the exchange of firing that lasted for couple of hours.

Till latest reports, the two separatist groups were still fighting against each other.

However, the local administration of Dera Bugti has yet to confirm the incident.

Balochistan Home minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said they had information about the incident and said that between 15 to 20 people had been killed.

He added that security forces will reach the area early in the morning.

Earlier on Monday, Balochistan Frontier Corps (FC) raided a hideout of banned outfits in Bolan District’s Bhaag area where they claimed to have seized a huge chache of arms and ammunition.

“The raid was conducted on a tip-off,” an FC spokesperson stated.

Further adding that “The hideout was being used by the terrorists of Banned Baloch Republican Army and Baloch Liberation Army to carry out subversive activities in Sibi, Kohlu and Dera Bugti districts.”
