Change of command: Khasadar line officer replaced

JAMRUD: Khasadar line officer Haji Khandad Afridi was replaced by the political administration of Khyber Agency earlier this week. Abdullah Jan has been appointed as the new line officer. Political Agent Shahab Ali Shah has ordered the new line officer to seize the reins without further delay. Insiders familiar with the matter believe Afridi was dismissed from service after a series of complaints were received against him for not performing his duties properly. However, Shah told journalists over the weekend that a new line officer was appointed because Afridi’s term had ended. When contacted, Afridi also insisted he had not been dismissed for performing his duties negligently. “I have been replaced on the wishes of the political administration officials,” he added.
