Unjustified casualty: Boy drowned over land dispute

Four people were also injured in an exchange of fire between the rival groups

SUKKUR: A boy was drowned over a land dispute between two groups of the Naich community in the Dodo Mahar village within the limits of the Mirpur Mathelo police in Ghotki district on Sunday. Four people were also injured in an exchange of fire between the rival groups. On Sunday, after heated arguments over a piece of land, men from one group threw five-year-old Shahzad, son of Imtiaz Naich, into the Maso Wah canal, drowning him. Later, armed men from both the groups opened fire on each other, injuring Mumtaz Naich, Shoukat Naich, Ghulam Hussain Naich and a passerby, Gul Hassan Mirani. No case has yet been registered.
