Pakistan lose kabaddi, handball finals
Pakistan end Asian Beach Games with four silvers and two bronze medals.
MUSCAT:
Pakistan ended with four silver and two bronze medals in the second Asian Beach Games after they lost the kabaddi and handball finals yesterday.
India won a tense kabaddi final in which the arch-rivals were tied 16-16 and then 18-18 before the defending champions came out 32-27 on top.
“I’m very disappointed with the outcome of this final,” said Pakistan’s Chef de Mission Doda Khan Bhutto, while adding that there were no excuses for their loss. “We should’ve won. Our team was strong but I don’t know what happened to them.”
Meanwhile, Kuwait outplayed Pakistan 2-0 in the handball final. Pakistan’s other bronze and the silver medals came from tent-pegging and sailing.
