LAHORE:

Justice Khalid Mahmood Khan of Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday issued the arrest warrants for a senior Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) for failing to adhere with court orders.

Justice Khan ordered the PTCL general manager (GM) to be arrested and produced before the court on June 7 after hearing the petition of an erstwhile employee of the company. Petitioner Sabir told the court that he had retired from the company in 2013. He said PTCL had not released Rs400,000 of his back benefits. Sabir said he had appealed to the GM several times on this account to no avail. He said he had been compelled to approach the court to have his grievance redressed. Sabir said the official had failed to release his dues despite a court direction in this regard.  The petitioner said the lackadaisical conduct of the GM amounted to contempt of court. He requested the court to initiate proceedings against him and direct the official to release his outstanding dues.
