Talking to a private news channel, he said that due to the heat-wave in the country, the power consumption has increased to 21,000 megawatts.
The government has however made efforts to increase the power generation from 14,000 to 16,000 megawatts.

Dastgir expressed great grief over the loss of lives due to the sweltering heat in the province and urged the Sindh government to take necessary measures

Further, the commerce minister said that during Ramazan, the federal government is making hectic efforts for smooth transmission of power.
He also said that peace in Karachi has been restored due to the ongoing operation.
