Heinous crime: Man kills twelve-year-old daughter

Police said on Tuesday that a man had killed his 12-year-old daughter in Dera Ghazi Khan. Officials said Basti Band Manowala resident Khizer Abbas killed his daughter after his mother forbade him from marrying a woman whose father he had promised the deceased to in marriage. Police said he had fled after killing his daughter.

Abbas’s mother said he had already gotten married and divorced thrice. She said she had told her son that she did not want her granddaughter to be party to a marriage-in-exchange. Abbas’s mother said he had threatened to kill the deceased in the case of such a development.

Police claimed to have arrested Abbas. Officials said police had also seized the weapon he had used to kill his daughter. Police said the body had been handed over to the family of the deceased for burial following the completion of formalities.
