More scrutiny: Govt to vet assets of LG elects

A performa sent to the police special branch seeks details of assets asking various questions

The K-P government has decided to look into the assets of newly-elected tehsil and district council members across the province. Talking to The Express Tribune, a government official said the decision has been taken by K-P senior officials.


He said the process will take about three weeks to complete.


The performa, sent to the police special branch, regarding details of assets asks various questions.


A source in the department said the forms asks LG members to enlist total assets, sources of income, number of vehicles registered against their names, details of land records and even political affiliation.


The decision has been taken at a time when local government poll results have not been officially declared.
