Transparency and merit: Bank of Punjab raises its assets to Rs425b

It also has 37 branches of Islamic banking

LAHORE: The Bank of Punjab’s assets have risen to more than Rs425 billion. The bank has acquired the distinction of having an elaborate network of 364 branches across 182 cities. It also has 37 branches of Islamic banking. By March 31, the deposits of the bank were valued at Rs330 billion while its liabilities and capital were valued at Rs 178 billion and Rs180 billion, respectively. The bank has increased its number of branches, as well as the number of customers at a fast pace. The BoP has set merit and transparency in its operations as its top priority following the vision of the Punjab chief minister, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. The BoP, directed by its president, Naeemuddin Khan, has its recovery campaign against defaulters. It has recovered billions of rupees through legal steps. Now the bank is considered among the top banks of Pakistan.
