ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (Parc) and National Agriculture Research Council (Narc) are awaiting their commercial licence to launch a TV channel that will educate and train farmers across Pakistan.

The new channel is expected to be launched in 15 days to directly cater to the farmers’ needs. “We have our studios ready, equipment in place and are just waiting for the commercial licence,” PARC Chairman Dr Zafar Altaf told The Express Tribune.

“The productivity of farmers will improve with the launch of this new channel. It will beam programmes in regional languages in all the provinces,” he said. “We need to support these farmers – agriculture is the backbone of our economy,” he added.
