The brand is set to showcase two collections titled ‘Desi Beauty’ and ‘Lace’. The ranges will be launched in stages, starting from the first week of Ramazan. Without divulging much, Maheen said, “The ‘Desi Beauty’ line is restricted to the colour black. It’s an ode to kurta shalwar and pajama.” She shares that keeping the summer heat in mind, the collection mainly comprises cotton and silk, which are both soft and airy.
Defining her brand philosophy, Maheen said, “Gulabo believes in making a statement for festivities. That’s why we have stylised shalwar and kurta, which is a perfect foil for Eid.” She further stated that a Gulabo girl is “the woman and the girl who loves to make a chic fashion statement.” She plans on offering her masterpieces even after Eid as “at Gulabo, fashion never sleeps.”
Gulabo also stocks truck-art inspired clothes and a range of scarves and tote bags. She was one of the first to realise the beauty of truck art on the roads of Pakistan, leading her to launch Gulabo in 2007. Maheen is one of Pakistan’s leading fashion designers, who founded the first Luxury Pret brand, and House of Maheen back in 1984.
