American civil rights activist Reverend Jesse Jackson has invited Pakistan’s former first lady Sehba Musharraf to be recognised as an honoured guest at the Women’s International luncheon on Monday. In a letter sent to former president Pervez Musharraf on Friday, Jackson wrote that Sehba would be recognised alongside the first lady of South Africa. “Pursuant to our conversation, I am delighted to invite Mrs Sehba Musharraf to be recognized as our honored guest, at the Women’s International luncheon with the First Lady of South Africa, Mrs Zuma here in Chicago,” the rights activist wrote. He added that Women’s International would also like to honour Sehba at a reception scheduled for Sunday and would like for her to give some remarks as well. “In the meantime, I remain committed and determined to have your freedom of movement restored and help get your name removed from the Exit Control List (ECL),” Jackson concluded. Sehba has already reached Chicago.
