KARACHI: At least nine suspects, including political workers and target killers, were apprehended during ongoing targeted raids in various parts of the city.

Three men affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were taken into custody. The MQM workers, Korangi sector joint in-charge Nazar, sector committee member Mujeeb and Unit 77 in-charge Alam, were arrested when they were returning from a protest held by the MQM outside Karachi Press Club on Tuesday evening. Their custodies were not disclosed by any law enforcement agencies. However, the party condemned the arrest and demanded the government take notice.

Separately, Rangers arrested three political workers whose names were not disclosed. According to the Rangers spokesperson, the arrests were made during a raid conducted in Bohra Pir and Shoe Market areas. Weapons were also recovered from the possession of the suspects who were shifted to an undisclosed location for further questioning.

Three suspected target killers were also arrested during a raid conducted by Rangers in Abbas Town. The identities of the suspects were not disclosed, however the Rangers spokesperson said, that the suspects were involved in various cases of target killings. Weapons were also recovered from their possession.
