KARACHI:

The 18-day training camp for Pakistan U16 probables finished on Monday with a three-day match at the National Stadium in Karachi under the supervision of junior cricket chief selector Basit Ali.

Basit praised the bowlers but said he was left unimpressed with the performances of the batsmen apart from Haider Ali, who scored a century in the three-day match.

“The bowlers have certainly made a mark in the camp, but apart from Haider, Atyab Ahmed and Ali Imran, the batsmen’s performance left a lot to be desired,” said Basit. “It’s just a start for all the youngsters and they must progress from here.  The key for the players would be to remember what has been taught to them and to keep applying those techniques regularly.”
