Fighting the disease: Anti-polio campaign starts in Sukkur

SUKKUR: The Sukkur additional deputy commissioner (ADC), Abdul Ghaffar Soomro, paid a visit to Bachal Shah Miani in Sukkur district where a three-day polio vaccination drive was launched on Monday. During his visit, the ADC administered polio drops to children and said that the staff deployed for the campaign have been informed that no negligence will be tolerated. He appealed to religious leaders to convince parents to get their children vaccinated. Even if one child is left out from being immunised, he or she can become a threat to the entire district, he added. In the ongoing campaign, more than 10,738 children will be vaccinated.
