PCO judges case: 'Judges are not above the law'

ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday said that judges are not above the law and if anyone violates the constitution, they must face trial.


The Chief Justice made this observation during the hearing of the petitons against the PCO judges on Wednesday.


During the case proceedings, Justice Shahid Siddique also observed that the judges are bound to abide by their oath. He said no one has the right to bypass the constitution and whoever does not abide by it must be punished.


Justice Jawwad S Khawaja observed that judges have no immunity in case they violate the law.


The case hearing has been adjourned till January 3.
