The deceased were identified as 40-year-old Danish and 30-year-old Sadaf.
Earlier, swimming or stepping into the sea in Karachi was banned for six months, keeping in view the tragedy that struck last year and claimed 40 lives.

“The ban has been imposed for six months from June till November due to the weather changes and high tides in the sea,” commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui had told The Express Tribune.

“This is the time every year when the tides are really high and dangerous even for professional swimmers.” The ban has been imposed just to avoid any mishap like last year’s,” he added. “It is a wise step to ban swimming before any incident happens and a precious life is lost.”
