New hospital: Sanaullah inspects construction work on General Hospital

FAISALABAD: Construction has begun on a 50-bed General Hospital at Samanabad. The project is to be completed with an estimated cost of Rs125.88 million.

Law minister, Rana Sanaullah, visited the hospital site on Monday and said that the hospital would cater to the medical needs of residents in the southern part of the city.

Sanaullah directed the concerned officers to complete the project within the stipulated time so that residents could avail the facility as soon as possible. Sanaullah also advised that space should be allocated for an extension to the hospital.

The minister was informed that 26 beds would be available on the first floor and 24 beds would form the major ward on the second floor. VIP rooms have also been added to the building cite and will be located on the third floor. Executive district officer (EDO-Health) Dr Rasheed said that the facilities of cardiac unit, children’s ward, gynaecology ward, orthopaedic ward, general surgery, pharmacy, diagnostic laboratory, blood bank and emergency services would be provided to the patients at the hospital. Officials expect construction on the hospital to be completed by February-March 2011 and hope that the hospital will be operational by April next year. APP
