LAHORE:

Several lawyers held a demonstration at GPO Chowk on Tuesday to protest against the killings of two lawyers in Daska. The Lahore High Court Bar Association held a general house meeting to discuss the matter.

Representatives of the Bar said that lawyers would continue to protest till the policemen, involved in the murder of their colleagues, were convicted.

Pakistan Bar Council vice chairman Azam Nazir Tarar said all representatives of relevant Bars were satisfied with the investigation of the case so far. He said a challan would be filed soon before the trial court. He said this was a test case for the government, “it knows that the legal fraternity is watching”.

LHCBA secretary Ahmad Qayyum said the blood of the murdered lawyers would not go in vain. He said the Bar’s leaders were pursuing justice for the families of victims.

They condemned the killings of two brothers in Rawalpindi. Later, lawyers gathered at the protest camp at GPO Chowk and recorded their protest.
