LAHORE:

Traffic police, supported by an automobile company, have given driving lessons to 1,709 beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Rozgar Scheme.

“The beneficiaries have been trained in a two-week programme,” a spokesman for traffic police said on Tuesday. He said staff of the automobile company had educated them various technical issues of vehicles.

Addressing a passing-out ceremony at Thokar Niaz Beg, Chief Traffic Officer Tayyab Hafeez Cheema said traffic police officials delivered lectures on traffic laws at the department’s training centres.

He said traffic police was doing its best to manage traffic in the city and ensure that there were no traffic jams.

“Action is taken against those who violate traffic rules. No one is spared,” the CTO said. He praised the management of the automobile company for providing technical support for the training programme. He said that citizens should follow traffic rules to ensure that there were no accidents or traffic jams on city roads.
