He expressed these views while addressing a meeting at Rawalpindi through video link on Monday, said a press release issued by the press information department.
He said that the project despite hindrances has been completed in a record time. He said that it is the property of the people and more than 125,000 people are benefitting from the service daily.
The chief minister said that a new culture of travelling in a disciplined manner was being promoted through metro bus service. He said that Wi-Fi facility has also been provided at stations and on the buses.
He directed the officials to launch a vigorous public awareness campaign about e-ticketing and travelling, ensure the best cleanliness system on the route.
Sharif said that all matters relating to the service have been outsourced.
Sharif directed the officials to complete horticulture and landscaping work, construction of pedestrian bridges at the earliest.
The CM constituted a high level committee for making foolproof security arrangements asking it to submit final recommendations in this regard soon.
He said that not a single penny will be paid to those contractors whose work is incomplete. He said that places should be identified for plying feeder route buses at the earliest. He said that a plan should be evolved for plying non-stop buses at peak hours.
Hanif Abbasi, Rawalpindi Commissioner, parliamentarians, Islamabad administration, Lahore Transport Company chairman Khawaja Ahmed Hassan, Punjab Metro Bus Authority managing director, Nespak managing director and others attended the meeting.
