Pakistan urges UNSC to resolve Palestine issue

Humanitarian assistance was necessary but not sufficient to address the tragedy, says Lodhi

NEW YORK: Pakistan on Friday urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to resolve the Palestine issue through the creation of a viable, independent and contiguous State of Palestine, Radio Pakistan reported.

Pakistan Ambassador, Maliha Lodhi, speaking at a press conference on Protecting Rights of Palestine Refugees in New York, said that humanitarian assistance was necessary but not sufficient to address the ongoing tragedy of the Palestinian people.

Further, she urged the Security Council to fulfill its responsibility and summon political courage to adopt a resolution with timelines for ending occupation in the state.

aam shehri | 9 years ago | Reply @Malatesh Do not be crazy, POK is worlds best and peaceful region run by Pak, but in IOK there are thousands of issues where your brave army is trying to capture the region forcefully since 1947 but failed. Who are you to interfere in CPIC ? just be relaxed about Balochistan my dear neighbour and concentrate on Assam, Uttar Pradesh Tamil Nadu etc etc etc !!
Human | 9 years ago | Reply @Virkaul: @Malatesh Balochistan is not a disputed territory as far as i know and neither was it occupied....i believe i had made myself extremely careful in not mentioning indias internal affairs like maoist-naxalits,Assam insurgency and occupation of Goa
