Zoheb Hassan to release seventh album

Music video of the song ‘Always on my mind’ has already been made

KARACHI: Ever since making an appearance on the Coke Studio last year, Pakistani music icon, Zoheb Hassan seems to have found relevance. The singer is now ready to build upon his comeback and will be making a full-fledged return to the world of music with another album which is expected to release later this year. While talking to The Express Tribune the singer revealed that the album is slated for a release right after the month of Ramazan. “The album is being produced by DJ Swami, he has previously worked with artistes like Stereo Nation,” Hassan told The Express Tribune.

Hassan revealed that the album has been recorded in England, Pakistan and India. “I recorded a few songs at the Yash Raj studios in Mumbai. Apart from that, two songs have been recorded in Karachi.”

According to the Chehra-singer, Fuzon’s keyboard player and music producer Imran ‘Immu’ Momina has “written the tunes for two songs included in the album.” The singer tweeted the news a few days back that, “Releasing very soon now... first the rockumentary and then the first music video of the album.” According to his social media updates, the team behind the album has already wrapped up the shooting of his first music video of the Always on my mind.

Last year, the musician featured on three Coke Studio songs which included Dheeray Dheeray, Chehra and Jana. In an earlier interview with The Express Tribune he had said how he was initially hesitant to appear on the show, but he was convinced after the producers agreed to include a tribute song to his sister, the late Nazia Hassan.“I had made it clear that I want to do at least one song as a tribute to my sister. That’s why the third song I performed on the show is Jana.”

After a gap of almost 14 years, Hassan released his previous album Kismat in 2006. The album, unlike his previous work didn’t do so well.
