Coming together: Turkey and Pakistan find avenues to collaborate

Turkey and Pakistan identified five areas of cooperation in the agriculture sector in a meeting held on Tuesday. The meeting was chaired by Punjab Agriculture Secretary Rashid Mehmood. The Turkish delegation comprised of representatives from the Turkish company Konya Seker and was headed by Business Developer Ahmet Duren, Semsitten Ozcen and others.


The representative of the Turkish company and experts of Punjab agriculture department discussed possible areas of cooperation for investment and to benefit from mutual expertise in order to promote the agriculture sector in Pakistan.


After an elaborate discussion, five areas of cooperation and investment by the Turkish company were identified, including promotion of drip irrigation system, quality/certified seeds, value addition of mango, guava, and potato. Additionally, promoting farming through solar and biogas integrated system.
