Religious celebration: Anniversary of Baba Bankhandi Maharaj begins

Management committee has made arrangements to provide facilities to the devotees

Baba Bankhandi Maharaj's death anniversary celebrations began at the Sadh Belo temple in Sukkur on Tuesday and will span three days. A large number of devotees, from across Sindh, are participating in the anniversary programme.


The celebrations started at Sadh Belo temple, situated at an island in the middle of River Indus, with a recitation from the Bhagvad Gita. A large number of Hindu devotees from across the country are gathering at the temple to take part in the celebrations. The Sadh Belo management committee has made arrangements to provide facilities to the devotees, including the distribution of free food, cold water and other amenities.


President of the Hindu Panchayat, Mukhi Eshwar Lal, speaking to The Express Tribune, said that this year the 11th disciple of the Sadh Belo, Maharaj Gauri Shankar from Mumbai, India, will grace the occasion on the third and final day of celebrations.
