Zardari Reference Case: Court adjourns till June 12
three witnesses were summoned to appear before the court, but only one showed up
RAWALPINDI:
An accountability court on Tuesday adjourned the asset concealment case against former president Asif Zardari till June 12. Zardari’s counsel, Farooq H Naek appeared before the bench to requesting the adjournment as he had not prepared his arguments. He requested that he wanted to study the case and would argue over witness statements in the next hearing. The bench, headed by Justice Khalid Mehmood Ranjha, accepted his request and adjourned the case. Meanwhile, three witnesses were summoned to appear before the court, but only one showed up. Separately, model Ayyan Ali’s bail application will be taken up on Wednesday as the Customs Court judge had taken leave for one day. Ayyan’s counsel Sardar Latif Khosa came to court but was informed that the judge was not available.
