PESHAWAR: At least 110 suspects including four Afghans were arrested during search operations carried out in parts of Peshawar, Express News reported.

Peshawar Police held around 82 suspects from areas including Yakah Toot and Wazir Bagh.

Moreover, 32 suspects including 4 Aghans, who are illegally residing in Peshawar, were also arrested from Tehkal, University Town and Gulberg areas of the city.

The security forces also recovered pistols and cartridges from the arrested - who were then shifted to an unknown place for investigation.

On May 24, as many as 30 people, including nine Afghans, were taken into custody by the police in a city-wide operation carried out over the weekend.

A police spokesperson said police teams were now interrogating the suspects. He said they were arrested over their failure to produce any identity documents.

Operations DIG Haider Ashraf said the operation would continue for as long as the Zimbabwean cricket team was in the city.
